Find Comanche County Traffic Cases

Comanche County traffic court records live with the court named on the citation, not in one countywide ticket list. A lookup starts with the issuing agency and the court notice. City police cases may use a municipal portal. State or county officers may route a ticket to the Justice of the Peace instead. The court file can show the citation, the plea, any setting, payment, and the outcome, and it stays separate from the state driver file. Confirm the court date and your response choices with the court before paying or appearing.

Traffic Case Records in Comanche County

Where a Comanche County traffic case sits depends on who wrote the ticket. Cases can land in different courts. The countywide Justice of the Peace Court handles some. Others go to the City of Comanche Municipal Court or the City of De Leon Municipal Court. The county FAQ explains the routing. Citations from the Department of Public Safety, Sheriff, and Game Warden go to the Justice of the Peace. Comanche Police tickets go to that city's municipal court. De Leon runs its own portal.

These courts handle Class C matters and local ordinance cases. A traffic docket entry may show the citation and the plea. It can also show a court setting, a payment, an order, a dismissal or compliance record, and warrant events. The county's Civil/Criminal Dockets Archives cannot replace those court files. So read the court name printed on the ticket first.

Gustine is a different story. The current state directory and the FY2025 municipal activity report list no Gustine municipal court. Tickets can still be written there. The issuing agency and the instructions printed on the ticket control the route.

Who Issued the Comanche County Ticket?

Who wrote the ticket is your fastest clue. DPS, Sheriff, or Game Warden citations go first to countywide Justice of the Peace Johnny Conine at 215 N Houston, reachable at 325-356-3543. A City of Comanche Police citation belongs with that city's municipal court. De Leon tickets go to De Leon Municipal Court. A stop inside the county does not automatically belong on the County Clerk's posted criminal calendar.

DPS, Sheriff, or Game Warden
Start with the Comanche County Justice of the Peace at 325-356-3543.
Comanche Police
Start with Comanche Municipal Court and its city portal or 325-356-2616.
De Leon city citation
Start with De Leon Municipal Court and its portal or 254-893-6851.
Unclear or Gustine-area ticket
Use the court printed on the citation and call the issuer if the venue is unclear.

Have the citation number and appearance date ready when you call. The JP page posts a payment link and self-help forms, but no full public docket database. State self-help pages explain procedure, yet they won't return a local case result.

Comanche County Traffic Ticket Lookups

Each city uses its own official Tyler portal. Search the one matching the court printed on the citation. The Comanche portal allows searches by citation number, driver license, vehicle, name, or business name. De Leon adds a Social Security number mode. Enter private identifiers only on the official court screen. Never copy them into public examples.

  1. Read the issuer, court name, citation number, and appearance instructions on the ticket.
  2. Open that court’s official portal and choose the narrowest matching search mode.
  3. Enter the citation number exactly; if needed, use the name, license, or vehicle fields that the portal provides.
  4. Review the court, case status, setting, amount, and available actions without assuming every document is shown.
  5. If the case is absent, call or visit the named court rather than paying through a different office.

For a JP case, call 325-356-3543 or visit the counter at 215 N Houston. The Justice of the Peace offers no complete public docket search. Comanche Municipal Court takes calls at 325-356-2616. De Leon's state directory number is 254-893-6851, and its portal posts Tuesday and Friday office hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Note: A statewide procedural site can explain the rules. But it never replaces the issuing court's citation record.

Comanche County Citation Search Fields

The City of Comanche citation portal offers five ways to find a traffic case. Requirements shift by mode. Some fields ask for sensitive details. The Comanche County Quick Links page routes readers to official Texas court help, though it returns no citation results. Start with the citation-number search if you hold the paper ticket. It's less likely than a name search to pull up a similar person.

Its field labels help you locate the case. For current status and official copies, the municipal clerk remains the source.

Traffic Court Dates in Comanche County

Start with the appearance instruction printed on the citation, then check it against the municipal portal or the court office. City of Comanche guidance requires a plea or appearance. It must come in person or by mail within ten calendar days of the violation. A phone call does not count as an appearance. That instruction is court-specific, so verify it against the notice on your actual ticket.

Citation NumberUse the exact printed value, shown here only as citation number because no universal local format was documented.
CourtThe municipal or Justice Court that holds the case.
Date and TimeThe appearance or hearing setting shown by the citation or court record.
LocationThe current court address; call before travel when official sources conflict.
StatusA court label such as pending, disposed, paid, or warrant, when the portal displays it.

A listed time never proves a hearing happened. A reset, continuance, plea, or later order can change what comes next, so confirm any critical date with the clerk. The broader Comanche County court schedule explains how settings differ from outcomes.

Comanche County Deferred Disposition

The Comanche portal warns against paying online first. Ask about deferred disposition or a driver-safety course before you pay. Payment can enter a conviction. Both alternatives need court approval and timely action. Call the municipal court at 325-356-2616 before touching the payment button. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 45A sets the statewide framework. The court handling the case decides eligibility and issues the order.

City guidance lists conditions for its driver-safety path. You need a Texas driver license and proof the court requires. No course for dismissal is allowed in the prior twelve months, and a commercial driver license does not qualify. It also flags exclusions for certain speed levels and construction zones with workers present. Passing a school bus and leaving an accident scene are on the list too. Those are eligibility flags only, never a promise of approval.

Ask before paying: A request for deferred disposition or a safety course must be made through the court, within the court’s time and proof rules.

Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It

Holding a Comanche County citation means making a real choice. The City of Comanche portal's own notice warns. Paying the fine there can count as a conviction. Fighting it works differently. You enter a not-guilty plea and get the court's next setting. The municipal guidance also lays out guilty and nolo contendere pleas. Jury and bench trial paths are described too. So an online payment is not a neutral way to hold your options open.

Do not ignore the deadline: City guidance warns that failure to appear may lead to a warrant and a driver-license renewal restriction. Contact the issuing court for the current case status.

Active-warrant payments on the Comanche portal process the next business day. Weekend and holiday payments move to the next business day too. That timing notice proves nothing. It does not show a warrant or hold has cleared. Get confirmation straight from the court.

De Leon Traffic Record Search

De Leon runs its own portal for Comanche County traffic record searches. Search modes include citation number, driver license, vehicle, name, business name, and Social Security number. The SSN mode also asks for date of birth. It displays an example format on the official form. Keep those personal details private in any sample query or shared search note.

The portal's Court Clerk label was blank. The Texas municipal-court directory lists Municipal Judge Wayne T. Parsons II instead. The address is 125 S Texas, PO Box 318. The phone number is 254-893-6851. The portal notice lists office hours. They run Tuesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Confirm both staff and hours before making the trip.

A blank result can mean the citation has not posted yet. Maybe the wrong search mode was used. Or another court holds the ticket. Recheck the citation, then call De Leon Municipal Court. Do not shift the query to Comanche city's portal for that reason. Both cities sit in Comanche County.

Two Records: Court File and Driver File

Two different offices hold these two files. The issuing Justice or Municipal Court keeps the case record. That record covers the citation. The Texas Department of Public Safety maintains the state driver file. The court file shows what the court received. It also shows what the court did. The driver file reflects state licensing information reported through the proper channels.

A missing municipal portal result proves nothing about the state file. The reverse holds too. A state entry will not show the court's full plea or order. It skips the copy history too. For any court-date or citation question, start with the issuing court.

Gustine Traffic Case Routing

Gustine posts no municipal court portal. The official state sources show no current municipal activity row. That gap does not mean Gustine has no tickets. It does not mean there is no local enforcement either. A Gustine citation may name another proper court, depending on the issuer and legal venue.

Read the agency name, court address, citation number, and date on the document. If it names DPS, the Sheriff, or a Game Warden, the answer is the Justice of the Peace. The county FAQ says so. If it names another body, call that issuer or the printed court. Gustine City Hall is an administrative contact, not automatically the clerk for a court case. The countywide JP is a starting point only. That route works when the citation or issuing agency supports it.

Traffic Record Copy Fees

No single current copy schedule covers every JP and municipal traffic file in Comanche County. Fees differ court by court. Ask the issuing court what a copy costs. Ask about plain and certified case copies. Do not apply the District Clerk's district-record price to a city citation, and never treat an online transaction charge as the fine or a copy fee.

ItemPublished amountMeaning
Comanche portal payment under $100$1Transaction notice, not the underlying fine
Comanche portal payment over $100$2.50Transaction notice, not the underlying fine
Extension or deferred request$3.50Portal request charge shown when researched

De Leon portal transactionConfirm with courtNo amount located in static source

An older City of Comanche fee PDF from 2020 lists fine examples. It is historical and conflicts with current contact details, so skip it as a fine schedule. What you owe depends on the citation and the present court record.

Comanche County Traffic Record Fields

A citation portal result may carry the citation or case number, violation, issue date, court date, and court or precinct. It may also list amount due, payment status, disposition, and warrant or hold information. Extension, deferred-disposition, or document options may appear too. Not every field shows up in every court. And a payment receipt is not the same as a certified case file.

When you request a copy, give the court, citation number, name, and date. Give them as the court asks. Request only what you need. That might be the citation, plea, final order, dismissal, or payment receipt. For private search keys, use the official secure channel. Skip ordinary email unless the court accepts it. Texas justice and municipal criminal cases follow a governing procedure. It sits in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 45A. That statute does not replace a local docket entry or court instruction. It supplies context for the clerk's record and the court's decision.
